You need to understand. Toon shaders in blender aren't actually made for a model's geometry, for some fucking reason they rely exclusively on normal and topology related math, and that leads to the really janky shadows both in raw animations, and what survived the culling in post. The solutions to this would... delay any progress, both time and money. It got to the point where I considered layered shadow textures to alternate between out of sheer despair. Included is the node setup I used, note that it is manual and specifically requires keyframing on Mapping and Color Ramp.
But yeah...
No normal editing, no topology, no proxies, no fancy shmancy shader, no techno babble. Just. Color.

Bone Heat Weight problems got in the way of what I wanted for Giru and Casey's necklaces before, but figured out a solution and got proper cuban chains on 'em. Right on time for a shorter animation soon.
Case someone else could use this info, first try scaling everything up by 100, and parenting with automatic weights. If that fails like what happened here, then go bigger. If THAT fails, while everything's still big, hit M to merge vertices and select by distance, raise the decimal in the popup to the highest amount possible that still has good geometry. Then I parented, succeeded, and then I shrunk the model.

Yeah the quiet after the last big update was just cuz I was updating 3D rigs for characters, and ironing out problems cuz blender's a bitch. Look forward to some good shit!
Also apparently Patreon now has updates for just members, period? I gots ideas for that.
